APC crisis: Tinubu no longer neutral – Shehu Sani reacts as plot to remove Oshiomhole thickens

Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator, has said Bola Tinubu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was no longer neutral in the crisis rocking the party. Sani made the remark in response to Tinubu’s comment on the plot to remove Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the APC. Oshiomhole has been at loggerheads with some members of the party. Against this backdrop, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi; Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo; former Edo state governor Oserheimen Osunbor had called for the removal of Oshiomhole. Boko Haram: Terrorists allegedly attack Nguru community in Borno, kill 3

Three people have reportedly been killed while five others were evacuated to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for treatment over injuries sustained from stray bullets following insurgent attacks at Ngururi community in Borno state, Northeast Nigeria. Residents of the area told newsmen on Sunday that the incident occurred on Saturday night when terrorists stormed the area and set the village on fire. According to the villagers, many of them escaped to the bush to avoid being abducted during the attack. “Residents were reportedly hit by stray bullets while trying to escape as the terrorists set the village ablaze” a local told journalists The local said the suspected terrorists came in gun trucks and motorcycles and torched several houses and other property, before fleeing towards the Alau Dam route into Sambisa Forest. The United States Government has released its Country Reports on Human Rights Practices on Nigeria. The report was signed by the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and covered 2019, the year under review. The 46-page document comprises seven sections (and dozens of sub-sections). These include Respect for the Integrity of Persons; Respect for Civil Liberties; Freedom to participate in the Political Process. On Monday (March 9, 2020) Emir of Kano State in northern Nigeria was dethroned by the state government citing insubordination and his actions impugning on the cultural and religious norms of the Emirates he occupied.
